OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) - A single-vehicle crash Sunday morning claimed the life of a Montgomery woman.
The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. on Interstate 85 approximately four miles north of Opelika.
The victim is identified as 22-year-old Collier Ann Byers. She was killed when the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was a passenger in left the roadway, struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned.
Authorities say Byers was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Cherokee, Parker Lowell Ivey, 22, also of Montgomery, was not injured.
No additional details are available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
